100 years of Chiropractic

In 1895, D.D. Palmer (picture), an American healer, gave his servant a treatment,
who turned deaf at a later age due to an accident. The patient felt a "crack" during this accident and turned deaf. Due to treatment of the upper part of the spinal column, he started hearing again. Although this is not the cure for deafness, it is the beginning of the discovery that the spine has a big influence on our health.

D.D. Palmer’s son, B.J. Palmer, continued his fathers' theory and developed this science to an university degree and chiropractic started to expand rapidly. The first chiropractor came to The Netherlands in 1968. At the moment there are over 200 registered chiropractors in our country.
Because more and more patients start to visit a chiropractor, the number of chiropractors in The Netherlands expands quickly, but the need voor expansion remains.
